Fun LGBTQ+ Brighton engagement photoshoot
The meeting with the two brides-to-be
It's 9pm, and I'm on the train returning home after a lovely meeting in South Bank with two brides, Alex and Audrey. They found me online when searching for a gay-friendly wedding photographer in London. They are such a lovely couple that time passed by quickly and without noticing that two hours went by. They had just returned from a holiday in Italy, so we had much to talk about. I was born in Italy, so it is always exciting to share people’s views of my country of origin.
Their excitement for Italian food and the people they met was still tangible. "Thank you for meeting us today, it was a great pleasure to talk to you. We chatted, and we'd love it if you could be our wedding photographer. Your style and personality really clicked with ours.” This is the message that the two lovely brides-to-be sent me after our meeting.
Perseverance Works alternative wedding venue
About the two brides' wedding, yes, no longer a civil partnership but a wedding now. In fact, since the end of March 2014, LGBTQ+ couples can legally be wed. Alex and Audrey decided to have their ceremony and reception at Perseverance Works Studio near Shoreditch. A versatile venue from Monday to Friday is a photographic film studio and an alternative wedding venue on weekends. Ah, I love London, it's so creative and fun.
The pre-wedding photographs in Brighton
A few months after our first meeting, I had the pleasure of meeting with the two brides again in sunny Brighton. Oh, what a fantastic day out. Sun, food, drinks, seaside and many photographs.
Why did we choose Brighton for the engagement photoshoot?
Because it's such a vibrant, exciting. Lively, creative, buzzing place, and when the sun is out, it is absolutely amazing. It really felt like being on holiday for the day. We ate al fresco. We walked on the beach. We had ice cream and so much fun. It really felt like being with old friends. I truly enjoyed this engagement session, which was full of energy, love and happiness. You can definitely feel the energy in the pictures, a strong, deep, and tender one. A little magic was captured with a click. Really looking forward to the wedding day now.
