Perseverance Works Studio Wedding Photography - Two Women Get Married
A special Love!
I was so lucky to photograph this amazing wedding of two brides in London. The beautiful Alex and Audrey asked me to photograph their wedding at Perseverance Works Studio a non-traditional wedding venue near Shoreditch.
The two brides wedding vows
These past 4 years have been truly wonderful, it is because of you that I am who I am today. Our bond has grown stronger and stronger every minute and It’s hard to imagine my life without you, you make me feel so special and I’m very lucky to have found you. When we first met we said that we wanted to learn from one another and it has to be said that you have taught me so much. You have inspired me to be confident and believe in myself. I have watched your face, your fears and you have helped me face mine. I never thought it possible to be with a person who makes you this happy, who you miss every moment apart and never demanding anything. All I wanted in life is to be happy, to fall in love and to see the world, you have given me this and so much more. I can’t wait for what is to come and look forward for it to continue. Audrey
June 4, 2010 was a very hot and beautiful Friday. That day I was introduced to the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. She was so pretty that I did not dare to look at her. Little did I know that this girl will change my life forever and will become my wife. Audrey – you know me better than anyone else in the world and somehow still you manage to love me. You are my best friend and one true love, you complete me. You are my light and you have shown me more love than I have ever known. I love you for your patience and kindness, for the smile that never leaves your face, and yes, even your stubbornness that challenges me at every turn. I love you for everything that you are, for my love has no conditions and draws no boundaries. And I know that you are the one I have always been searching for, all because my heart is finally at peace. So today I give you my hand and my heart with the promise of my unconditional love for a lifetime. I will always be next to you, to listen and to hold your hand. I will protect you and care for you and I will never let you go. I will celebrate your triumphs and love you all the more for your failures. And I will try in every way to be worthy of your love. Alex
Alex & Audrey's Urban relaxed LGBTQ+ wedding
Alex and Audrey’s wedding is everything a wedding should be, sincere, simple, emotional, and so REAL. The wedding ceremony was on the roof top terrace of Perseverance Works venue.
The wedding proposal
We both secretly came up with the same idea to propose to each other at exactly the same time on our second anniversary. We worked on two totally different plans, then at some point I found out what Audrey was up to and we had to come clean to one another. We ended up designing the rings together and going for a romantic trip to Barcelona.
What two Brides wore to their wedding
We both wore blue suits and white shirts with different accessories – Alex had blue braces and tie, Audrey wore yellow bow tie and yellow braces. The suits were supposed to be made especially for us, but the tailors did a horrible job so we ended up buying our outfits from Esprit and Uniqlo. Audrey’s best friend did our make-up and hair. We usually don’t wear make-up, so we asked for it to be subtle. The hair style was minimalistic as well.
The Ceremony and Reception at Perseverance Works venue
Both the ceremony and reception took place at Perseverance Works venue. We loved the fact that the venue was all white and there were no decorations or furniture or other unnecessary distractions. It was a white canvas. It also had a roof terrace with the views over Shoreditch, and we always dreamed of getting married in open air. The most touching moment for us was the ceremony itself and especially the vows. Audrey couldn’t stop crying The whole wedding was one happy day, we didn’t want it to end. It was very simple and intimate, without any pretention. It was the best day of our lives and our guests felt the love in the air too.
The Wedding Photographer
We chose Paola from Paola De Paola Photography for both our engagement and our wedding, because she is a gay-friendly wedding photographer and the pictures looked unique compared to other photographers that we came across online. We loved her style, the moments and emotions captured in the pictures and we also clicked on the personal level straight away. Paola was very friendly, understanding and professional, so we would definitely recommend her to everyone!
The Food
The catering was organised by our lovely Italian chef Nancy Vollaro. We had canapés and cocktails, followed by soup and mains, everything was prepared to perfection.
Wedding Advice to new couples
Our advice would be to have a summer wedding , nothing beats the sunshine and blue skies. Prepare yourself for massive bills, weddings are not cheap, no matter how simple you try to make it. This wedding has been featured on Way Out Wedding, Mr and Mrs Unique and Confetti’s blog.
