As a wedding and engagement photographer in London, I love capturing couples in unique and vibrant settings. When Beth and Antonio chose Shoreditch as the location for their engagement and pre-wedding photography session, I was thrilled. This is one of London's most creative parts, and the area's colourful street art and creative energy provided the perfect backdrop for this sunny autumn day.

Meeting Beth at a Vintage Wedding Fair

I first met Beth, a bride-to-be, in October 2013 at the Miss Vintage Wedding Fair held at the incredible Battersea Arts Centre, also known as one of London's most alternative wedding venues. As a London-based wedding photographer, I regularly exhibit at events like this to meet couples planning their big day.
Beth and I clicked immediately. She told me about her fiancé, Antonio, and how they weren't initially planning to hire a professional wedding photographer. A friend had offered to document their wedding, but later they changed their mind and booked me instead. I couldn't be happier, as their wedding was one of the most unforgettable celebrations I've ever photographed.

Planning Their Shoreditch Engagement Photography Session

Beth and Antonio wanted something artistic and creative for their engagement photos. With its world-famous street art and edgy urban charm, Shoreditch was an obvious choice. To help plan the session, I created a Pinterest board featuring ideas and inspiration tailored to their style.
We scheduled the engagement photography session for 23rd November, and a few days before, I explored the area to find the best murals and hidden spots. London never ceases to amaze me with its endless photography opportunities, and Shoreditch is a treasure trove of vibrant colours and textures.

A Sunny Autumn Day in London

On the day of the session, we faced some typical London transport challenges, with the Northern Line and Overground out of service. But nothing could stop us from making it a great day. We met early on a crisp, sunny morning. The clear blue sky was stunning, but it was freezing! It was so cold that Beth and Antonio's adorable pug puppy stayed warm at home rather than joining us.
Beth, a freelance journalist, and Antonio, an Italian-born System Developer at MailOnline, brought so much creativity and personality to the session. Their artistic backgrounds made it a joy to work together. We explored the streets of Shoreditch, stopping at striking murals and interesting corners to capture relaxed, natural images that told their story.
Beth's effortless photogenic beauty and Antonio's easygoing nature made them a perfect pair to photograph. The blend of their warmth and bold, urban surroundings resulted in photos full of life and personality.

Counting Down to Their Wedding Day

With their wedding day approaching in April, I couldn't be more excited to continue capturing their love story. Engagement photography sessions are not just about creating beautiful images but also a chance for couples to get comfortable in front of the camera. By the end of the session, we'd all connected so well that I knew their wedding day would be even more special.
