Festival Style Tipi Wedding in Wales

Why choose a Tipi wedding?

Lynne and Fraser’s tipi wedding in Wales was a major operation, as they both live and work in London. So why bother if you could have a simpler option in the capital? Why worry and sweat for something that requires months and months of hard work? Simply because they were looking for something very unique, something that represents them as a couple, something to remember and to be proud of!

What is it a tipi?

It is a conical tent made of animal skins, cloth, or canvas on a frame of wooden poles, originally used by American Indians of the Great Plains who frequently moved from place to place. But, nowadays, it's becoming a very popular choice amongst the more adventurous couples.

A festival wedding

When I first met Lynne and Fraser at The South Bank, in London for our pre-wedding consultation, the first thing they told me was for our wedding we want to recreate the atmosphere we experienced at music festivals. This is why they decided to celebrate the big day in Wales at a friend's farm, with tipis and 30 small tents for the guests. They succeeded very well in creating, a cute little village, with hot showers, and luxurious toilets. My dear friend and queen of wedding styling, Lou from Beyond Vintage helped to make the day memorable.

The wedding day

Lynne decided to get ready in the most amazing country house, The Grove in Narberth. A privately owned luxury boutique hotel in the stunning Welsh countryside. Fraser was at the Brown’s in Carmarthenshire a quirky boutique hotel built in 1752 and recently refurbished. The wedding ceremony was held at St Martins Anglican Church in Laugharne, a beautiful Church dated from the 13th century. The tipis festival village was set up at Fern Heol Down, a farm that belongs to Lynne and Fraser’s friends, Matt and Sian.

The view was magnificent!

Overlooking a lake the farm is surrounded by hectares of unspoilt countryside, and only at about 7 Miles from the glorious Welsh coast. It was my first tipi wedding and I totally loved the experience, thank you, Lynne and Fraser, for this!
