Vintage Steam Fair Engagement Photoshoot
Meet the couple
I've known Marina for a few years now. She's Italian and a fellow photographer. They’re two things that we definitely have in common. I met Alessio before and was very excited to be their engagement photographer. We have been talking about a possible location for the pre-wedding photoshoot for a while but nothing really grabbed our attention. Until the day my husband returned home from work, cycling with some exciting news.
He'd seen the poster announcing the arrival of The Carters Steam Fair to Fulham and knew that I would love to use it as a location, because as alternative wedding photographer I love discovering unique venues in London.
The Carters Steam Fair engagement photos
The first thing was to visit the Carters Steam Fair to ask for permission to photograph the newly engaged couple. I'm always very conscientious for when photographing in places where there might be children, but I was delighted to find out that I was granted permission.
After creating a mood board on Pinterest like I always do for photoshoots, it was just a matter of deciding on the right day. It had to be at the weekend, but before the crowds arrived. We were blessed with a fantastic sunny day. Marina and Alessio were initially shy, but I explained that the most crucial element for me was their feelings for each other. I did not want any posing. I just wanted to catch the sparkle of their love.
This is what an engagement photoshoot is all about, to be able to visually represent something that has no words but means the world.
Carter's Steam Fair has the flare of the past with the energy of the present. It's a truly fulfilling experience, particularly for someone like me, who adores the revival of the vintage. Carter's Steam Fair is miles away from the tackiness of mediocre general funfair. Their ethos is what makes them so unique.
I'm delighted that Marina and Alessio will soon have their first baby. I thank them with all my heart and wish them a wonderful life together.
